Back to basics
I saw one of my acquauaintances a couple of days ago. I think I made a comment of her before. And it seemed to me that she had been doing what she did the best. She is a painter whose ambitions go far beyond her territory, up to a business level. I know that she is born with that kind of energy and skills, but she is going too far in the absence of reality analysis. If it works for her, that would be a magnificient result that she could be proud of. But that does happen very occasionally.
She introduced me to see recent works that she had done lately, and I found her style of painting, being changed dramatically. They were strong, bright color senses, warm tones around the paintings. I liked that a lot.
I was asking her "We all know we should stay in basics, to focus on what we are good at, but sometimes we are tempted into a place where we don't belong to." "That is a tragedy, but we have to live with that."
She didn't say a word with a little smile.
