The Dialogue (2)
It was by chance that I dropped by one of neighbor's stores. It has been a while to see her since the last class of Korean traditional liquors was ended in the last year. I contacted her with a few calls, but it was not more than that. When I knocked on her door, she gave me a big smile with warm hospitality around. I felt I was welcomed a lot. She was a kind good listener, in spite of her ages. People tend to speak up as they are getting older. But fortunately enough, she was not one of them.
It was a moment of updating that how we have done so far since the last class, and all of sudden, my story went to deviate from usual talking stuffs. I told her that how I could get advantage of the return policy without any guilt or embarrassment. It was something like I bought a merchandise for a special occasion and returned to it within three weeks later, just saying that "this one is not what I expected to get and I don't like it". I never got turned down by an employee, not in a single one episode. And she told me that "you are saying your shameful history in some sense". I replied that "I don't mean to it. My point is that I was trying to distinguish one system from the other.
I was beginning to see the gap between how two persons perceive and interpret the same situation differently.
