To some extent hunanity's good nature is acknowledged, but the existential cause and justification to survive is a much higher concept. Of course, that doesn't mean one thing is superior to the other.
The perspectives in the historical process of human behaviours would certainly differ in many ways. And all of sudden, Stephen Finger's 'The Better Angels of Our Nature' came to my mind first. And I jumped into a conclusion that above all, selfishness is the foremost statement of all creatures inherent in the form of instinct. Because there is nothing left to elaborate into others if exsitence regardless of external and internal aspects is no longer validate.
The intention to outline the struggle of survival through learning in a rational and peaceful way is entirely welcome, but the idea of ignoring or concealing the essence never guarantees long-term settlement. Like fashion, the atmosphere is likely to be swept away as times go by.
However, without any confrontation of such an idea, it would naturally undermine the opportunity to express diversity and increase the risk of collapse due to excessive bias. Thus, it may be that such a long tearful effort has been made to protect other views.
PS. It would be too heavy for the idea in a cafe where I walked out the morning walk at dawn and became its first guest. Perhaps it occured to me that the personal interpretation of selfishness was still reserved somewhere.
